Lambris Complement Training 2021 Award
It is our pleasure to announce that the International Complement Society will present the 5th Lambris Complement Training Award, sponsored by the Lambris Family. The award will be presented by the President of ICS at the 29th Complement Virtual Workshop.
Purpose: The Lambris Complement Training Award intends to recognize and foster an individual who shows outstanding promise to be one of tomorrow's leading biomedical research investigators studying complement.
Eligibility criteria: In order to meet the criteria for the Lambris Complement Training Award, appropriate research by the candidate may be based on laboratory investigations, clinical or epidemiological studies, experimental animal studies, or a combination thereof, in the field of complement for which an abstract has been submitted to the ICW 2021. Preference is given to nominees at a trainee or mentored position. Nominations may be suggested and submitted by any member of the ICS; self-applications are not accepted.

• Must be registered for the ICW2021 and submit an abstract
• Letter of Recommendation
• Curriculum Vitae
• Extended abstract describing the nominee's work not to exceed 750 words.
The nomination deadline is August 23, 2021
The ICS Board will select the awardee, who will be notified of the decision by mid September, 2021.
The award will be presented at the XXVIII Complement Virtual Workshop 2021, and will be awarded a Certificate of Award and a honorarium of $1500. The awardee will be published the ICS newsletter and on the ICS website.
Early Career Award for Research in Complement
It is our pleasure to announce that the International Complement Society will present a ICS Early Career Awards for Research in Complement at the XXVIII Complement Workshop 2021 in order to recognize outstanding work by a younger colleague in the field.
Purpose: The Early Career Award, established in 2014, acknowledges excellence in complement-focused research by a scientist who is in the early stages of an independent career, and provides support to stimulate further research of the highest scientific level.
Eligibility criteria: In order to meet the criteria for the Early Career Award, nominees should be younger than 40 years old at the nomination date and have held a Faculty position for no more than 10 years, though special consideration will be given to those who have taken career breaks. Appropriate research by the candidate may be based on laboratory investigations, clinical or epidemiological studies, experimental animal studies, or a combination thereof, in the field of complement. Nominees must be employed in a University, non-profit research institution or hospital. Nominations may be suggested and submitted by any member of the ICS; self-applications are not accepted.

What you need for the nomination:
All documentation must be submitted electronically through the meeting website. Once you have your documents together, click on the Register Now button above and upload the following documents when requested:
• CV and proof of the nominee's eligibility;
• Career Document - List of up to five key original papers published in the last (3) years (published or accepted for publication) with a short description of the candidate’s career, her/his research interests and personal contributions to the various research projects s/he has been participating.
• Three (3) letters of support with at least two (2) from individuals outside the nominating institution, submitted as individual PDF files and uploaded on the on-line system.
• A color photograph submitted as TIFF, EPS, or JPEG file measuring at least
4 x 6 cm at 300 dpi resolution for publication

Presentation and announcement of the award: The award will be presented by the President of the ICS at the XXVIII Complement Workshop in Berlin, Germany.
The Early Career Awardee will be honored with a Certificate of Award and a honorarium of $2000. S/he will then give a 25-min lecture on her/his research at ICW2021. The awardee will be published in the final program of the ICW, the ICS newsletter, and on the ICS website.
